When my empty belly talks. I was on a coastal zone here in Venezuela, at the Caribbean Sea. I was walking with my big pack and my camera, suddenly I realize that I am starving but I didn´t  have any money or food either. So I stepped in the house of this Little guy and his family. They sell Empanadas (breakfast).  I ate two of them and at that time, I was ready to keep on walking and take the public bus.

When I was ate already, I  asked  this dude to take  him a picture, because he was  very  kind with me and I wanted to keep  him  in my negatives; he said “Yes, no problem, but send me the final picture via e-mail”

The person behind him is his father, he cooks the breakfast and his son delivers  it.

*Empanadas: typical breakfast in Venezuela, It´s made with corn flour filled with seafood, chicken, cheese, meet, etc.

These three photographs are from an specific day. It was the day that I went to pick up one of my square photos, after being rejected by the jury of an exhibition that I wanted to be a part of.  In this specific moment I was waiting for the bus to get in, and my photograph was laying by this beautiful tree.

When you don’t get chosen for the exhibition, you have to pick up your “piece of art” in a 15 days maximum. If you leave it, they can do whatever they want with it.

Obviously I went to pick it up, because I like it a lot. If I don’t have this love for my photo, who is going to have it??

The photograph is wrapped, so in this post we are not be able to see it. Maybe a little forward ☺.

Arja

A portrait of Arja Hyytiäinen and her son/daughter.

I had the pleasure to meet this amazing photographer. One of the things she told me was “do the pictures you want, just do photographs, enjoy it…”

I seriously recommend that you look into google and put an eye on her excellent work.

It is a shame for me that I don’t remember if her child is her son or daughter, but otherwise the immense love is the same.

Hands are an important matter on visual and corporal expression. In this specific case, this hand is from a homeless man, who was sleeping on the bench by me. His hand on the back of the bench was the thing that took most of my attention.

This “Man from the streets” knows very well where to take his daily nap, because the bench was located on a sunny but shadowy place.

Sweet dreams!!
